Ocala, Fla. (April 2017)— Sundresses and sandals, casual short-sleeved shirts and slacks presented a strong contrast to the formal attire worn eight years ago to Trinity Catholic High School’s first annual gala, the Emerald Ball. This year’s considerably more relaxed crowd had come for A Night in Key West.
Guests found themselves transported to the southern-most point in the continental U.S. as they passed through the courtyard gates. Trinity Catholic Student Ambassadors provided stellar island hospitality, ensuring their visitors’ awareness of the beverages and appetizers immediately available. Walking tours of the island included various shopping stops; gallery visits; live entertainment venues; and endless opportunities for relaxed socializing and bidding during the cocktail hour and silent auction.
Rondo Fernandez and his Mojo Grill & Catering crew created gourmet island surf and turf cuisine worthy of the Conch Republic for both the hors d’oevres and dinner on Duval Street. Live auction items included . . . . Numerous dessert stations opened to more live entertainment and mingling in Mallory Square following the live auction. Guests took home their midnight snacks–mini key lime cupcakes–as a ‘thank you’ for visiting the island.
This event, the fourth of its thematic kind in as many years, is Trinity Catholic’s annual gala. Trinity Catholic High School awards over $700,000 per year in tuition assistance to over 60% of the student body. Through the efforts of all involved in A Night in Key West the evening’s proceeds contribute significantly to TC’s tuition assistance program.
So where will we spend A Night next year? Keep an eye on Trinity Catholic’s Facebook page to find out.
